Hello, and welcome back to this newsletter. As always, thank you to all the loyal readers for your encouragement and support! Greetings to the new subscribers who have recently joined!
This newsletter serves as a “teaser” for the new format I am unveiling.
The format of these newsletter “shorts” for PROBLEM SOLVING INC. will differ dramatically from my prior posts (although I will continue to write long-form content occasionally). These mini newsletters are meant to appeal to those that would like to learn more about the “nature” of problems, along with problem solving techniques, strategies, and methods, in short “bytes” of information. Moving forward, each short edition will briefly cover one topic (or one question) in problem solving.
One of the motivations for this change is that I understand most people have limited time to read longer articles of interest. I believe this new format is a simple but effective solution to the problem of limited reading time for most people.
A second motivation is that I believe a shorter format allows me to get right to the point and can be a better teaching method in suggesting ways readers can become better problem solvers, which is why I write this newsletter.
My longer newsletters have focused more on the general “philosophy” of understanding problems and problem-solving methodologies, while in this condensed short format I can concentrate on one specific area (question) of problem solving.
My goal is to publish much more frequently, as I would like to have a study stream of learning materials available for subscribers in a significantly shorter time frame.
The structure of each newsletter short will be as follows:
1. The Question
2. Introduction
3. Discussion
4. Related Questions
5. Conclusion
I sincerely hope the readers of this newsletter will enjoy this change. Please let me know what you think, any suggestions, or topics (questions) you would like to see addressed in the comments.
